The importance of a live ceremony honouring our Veterans and their sacrifices is considered paramount by the Legion. Your participation and support at the Kanata Legion’s annual Remembrance Day Ceremony and Parade is appreciated.
Wreaths remain a strong symbol of remembrance and a means of supporting the Kanata Legion and our Veterans. Please consider ordering a 14” wreath by donating $60.00 to the Kanata Legion’s Poppy Trust Fund. To order a wreath, please contact George Pollock at 613-836-2530 or email remembrancebr638@gmail.com by November 1. At that time, please also confirm if a wreath will be placed during the ceremony.
Those wishing to participate in the parade are asked to:
- contact Joyce Prentice (joyce.br638remembrance@gmail.com or leave a message at 613-592-4426), on or before 1 November, with your organization's name and contact name, to include phone number and email address, as well as the approximate number of parade participants and names of those that will be laying wreaths.
- gather in the Russian Orthodox Church of the Blessed St. Xenis parking lot (2 Colchester Square, across from the OPP Station) by 10:15am.
Spectators are requested to arrive early to allow time for traffic and parking as the roads will be closed at 10:30 am. Please be in place before the parade marches in at 10:45 am. Due to the size of this year’s parade, parking will not be available at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Blessed St. Xenis’ parking lot
After the Ceremony, join us at the Kanata Legion, Branch 638 (70 Hines Road) for refreshments and comradeship as we come together to honour and remember.
