New COVID Restrictions

Good Morning Comrades,

You have by now seen and heard Premier Ford’s latest Provincial restrictions resulting from the growing COVID numbers in Ontario. This message is to inform you of the steps that we at the Branch deem to be necessary to meet the aims of the restrictions and to conduct minimal activities under the safest possible practical guidelines to protect all of our members, volunteers and users of the facility and the well-being and reputation of the Branch itself.

Effective Wed, 5 January 2022 for a period of 21 days, unless otherwise reported, the Branch will be virtually closed down operating with the following conditions:

  • There will be no indoor food services. Take out may become an option at a later date;
  • Foot care clinic may operate with occupancy of no more than 5 people;
  • Social gathering limited to 5 people indoors and 10 outdoors;
  • No recreational activities such as darts or FAR &TBS Club;
  • No sewing or singing groups;

Only CRITICAL or URGENT and NECESSARY Administrative and Security functions to be carried out, with preferably 3 people but no more than 5 in the office;

Bookings for weddings, funerals or religious services, rites and ceremonies with 50% capacity followed;

All activities will be conducted with normal COVID entry and exit, and use safety checks being applied. Venues must be properly disinfected after use.

This is not a happy situation for us but we must share the pain with the rest of the Province and do our best to stay COVID free and safe.
